Privacy Policy

Our use and disclosure of information

At Lighthouse, we gather information about you that may be used to process a premium quotation and service your insurance policy if you secure coverage with one of our partner carriers, help settle your claims with the underwriting carrier and offer you additional products and services that we think may be of interest to you, and as permitted or directed by you. Some of this may be nonpublic, personal information (information not available to the general public) that is provided by you, that we gather from transactions and communications with you, through services performed for you, that we obtain from third parties, or that we obtain through other means, all as permitted by law.

Information we collect from you

This includes information you provide us when you apply for our products or request services, either on the Internet, by phone, or by other means. It may include information such as your name, address, residence information, telephone number, email address, vehicle information, drivers license number, driving history, current or former insurance information, social security number, gender, educational background, date of birth, marital status and Lighthouse web pages visited. It also includes information from your communications with us such as letters, telephone calls, and emails.

Information we collect from third parties

This includes information we collect from insurance support organizations, such as consumer reporting agencies and other third parties. It includes information such as motor vehicle reports, consumer credit information, demographic information, insurance histories, and claims reports. Information obtained from insurance support organizations may be retained by such organizations and disclosed to other persons as permitted by law.

Information about your transactions

This includes information about your transactions with us and others, including our affiliates. It includes information such as your policy coverage levels, account balances, claims history, and billing information.

Information we disclose

The above-described types of personal and other types of information about our current, former, or potential customers may be disclosed, but only as permitted or required by law, or as permitted or directed by the customer or consumer.

We may disclose such information to affiliate and unaffiliated insurance companies, insurance agents, reinsurance companies, and insurance support organizations, such as consumer reporting agencies, government entities, and claims administrators. We may also disclose information to unaffiliated third parties that perform services or functions on our behalf including the marketing of our products or services. Further, we may also disclose information as necessary to affect, administer, or enforce a transaction that you request or authorize.

The following are examples of situations in which we may disclose information:

• Your information may be passed between us and our agents, appraisers, attorneys, investigators, and others who may be involved in the sales and marketing of Lighthouse products and services, processing of applications, and servicing of policies or claims.
• We provide your policy information to adjusters and other appropriate business entities that make any necessary repairs to your vehicle when you are involved in a claim.
• We may provide your information to others whom we determine need such information to perform insurance or other professional functions for us. These may include parties helping us with administrative services and consumer reporting agencies.
• We may supply information as required by search warrant, subpoena, or legal process to state insurance departments or other law enforcement or government authorities when required by law, or to protect our own legal interests in the event of suspected illegal or fraudulent activities.
• If we collect your information as an agent for one of our business partners, we may use it to contact you or make you an offer regarding auto insurance that may be of interest to you.

All of the unaffiliated entities with which we may share your information are required to keep the information confidential and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared, except as otherwise permitted by law.

Lighthouse communications

As a Lighthouse policyholder, you may be contacted by Lighthouse regarding your policy and our products and services, such as billing notices, confirmations of changes, changes to our products, and other Lighthouse-specific communications. You may not unsubscribe from Lighthouse-specific communications that relate to your primary usage of our service and products and you agree to receive these if you obtain a premium quotation. Additionally, Lighthouse and/or its affiliated third party insurance carriers, and/or partner’s, may provide policy, weather and other updates via automated Text, Phone and email.

From time to time, Lighthouse may contact you about third-party promotions. In addition, prior to purchasing a policy or after canceling your policy, Lighthouse may contact you to confirm your quote or invite you to come back and get a new quote or purchase a policy. You will have the ability to unsubscribe from whichever type of communication you received.

Confidential and secure environment

Lighthouse is strongly committed to protecting the confidentiality and security of your information against unauthorized access and disclosure. As examples, we use encryption technology to protect your information and only allow those with a "need to know" to ever access it.

Links to other companies on the Lighthouse website

The Lighthouse website contains links to our business partners and links to other sites offering valuable information. If you choose to provide any personal information directly to any of these entities, the collection and disclosure of your personal information by that entity will be governed solely by that entity's privacy policy. Lighthouse makes no representations or warranties regarding these sites.

Reviewing or correcting your information

As a policyholder, you can always review and update your information through your account on our website at www.lighthouseinsurance.com or by calling our customer service center at 1-888-399-0300 or by calling a local branch location All consumers have the right to know the personal information that Lighthouse has about them, to make changes to that information, and to know the identity of any entity that Lighthouse has disclosed that information to within the previous 2 years. To make such an inquiry, please call our customer service center or write to the address listed below and identify the information you would like. You will be required to provide certain personal information for identity verification purposes. If your information is immediately accessible when you call, the customer service representative will review it with you and you may make changes to it at that time. If your information is not immediately accessible when you contact us, Lighthouse will inform you of the types of information we have about you within 30 business days. If you would like to further review the information, you may review and copy the information in person at our customer service center or request a copy be sent to you by mail. Lighthouse may charge a fee for providing a copy by mail.

Online Advertising

For online advertising, Lighthouse Insurance uses AdRoll, an analytical tool to distribute online remarketing advertisements. AdRoll consists of dropping tiny data files, or cookies, by us and third parties on a visitor's computer in order to better personalize the website experience. The cookies also work to target specific ads on certain websites outside of Lighthouse Insurance's domain.

Terms of Use

www.Lighthouseinsurance.com, (the "Site"). By using the Site and/or Quote Portal, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms of Use, you must not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site will constitute your acceptance of these Terms of Use, as may be modified by Lighthouse at any time without notice to you. Please check this page regularly for updates.

Permitted use

All of the content in the Site is made available only for your personal, lawful, non-commercial use in connection with seeking insurance. Use of the Site by a competitor company or other non-consumer third party is prohibited.

Except as expressly mandated by law, you may not, without our prior written permission: (i) link from another website to the Site; (ii) post, transmit, copy, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, sell, or republish anything you obtain or download from the Site; or (iii) engage in systematic retrieval of data or other content from the Site.

Our products and services

The information and materials provided in the Site are intended for general reference only, and may not describe all of the terms, conditions, and exceptions applicable to Lighthouse’s products and services or services provided through partner carriers. All coverage’s are subject to the terms and conditions of the insurance policies issued by their respective carriers. Coverage’s and their availability may vary by state and your individual circumstances, and additional minimum coverage limits may be required in your state. The products and services offered on the Site are only available in the jurisdictions in which Lighthouse is properly licensed. Coverage cannot be bound (placed into effect) through this site.

Privacy and passwords

Lighthouse values and protects the privacy of your information. Please review the Lighthouse Privacy Policy, as it contains important information relating to your use of the Site.

Some portions of the Site are protected and require a user identification code ("User ID") and password for access. Unauthorized access or use of such portions of the Site is prohibited. This means that Lighthouse expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including without limitation the warranties of title and non-infringement and the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Limitation of liability

Lighthouse shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or claim, nor any special, indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages of any kind, whether such action is based in tort, contract, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise and even if Lighthouse has been advised of the possibility of such damages, which arises out of or relates in any way to: (i) the Site, materials in the Site, or the inability to use the Site; (ii) any Third-Party Site, materials in any Third-Party Site, or the inability to use any Third-Party Site; (iii) any defect, omission, error, interruption, delay, or computer virus; or, (iv) except as a result of Lighthouse's gross negligence or intentional actions, the unauthorized alteration of or access to your transmissions or personal data.

If you are in a state that does not allow the limitation of liability for certain damages, the above limitation of liability or a portion of it may not apply to you. However, you agree in any event that Lighthouse's total liability for all damages, losses, injuries, or claims of any kind or nature shall be limited to the amount you have paid to access the Site.

Insurance Rate Information

The information used in all insurance rate quotes have been derived from user input obtained during the quote process and certain default quote criteria specific to carrier underwriting guidelines and state regulations. These user inputs have been conveyed to various insurance carriers via proprietary technology and rates published through insurance carrier websites and agent/broker portals which insurance companies routinely publish distribute and allow access to agents and brokers. To the best of Lighthouse’s ability and the rating platform we utilize, we have made a diligent effort to ensure that the insurance rate information contained in any insurance rate quote is up-to-date and accurate. However, accuracy cannot be guaranteed.

All quotes are for illustration purposes only. Actual premiums and coverage will be based on coverage limits, exclusions, policy deductibles, age, gender, driving behavior, certain underwriting criteria, state of residence, territory of residence, proximity to coast and prior loss history. Additionally, consumer records including credit, motor vehicle, comprehensive loss underwriting and additional driver disclosure reports may be obtained by Lighthouse or any other affiliated carrier Agent or Broker. It is solely the user’s responsibility to review the accuracy of all quotes and policy data related to any quote or policy secured through a carrier provided rate (For informational purposes only, company-authorized illustration) through this Site. Not all policies or companies are available in all states. Federal copyright law prohibits commercial use by other agents, brokers and parties marketing insurance products or information. Coverage cannot be bound (placed into effect) through this site.

In the event that there is a discrepancy between the information contained in the insurance rate quotes, and any insurance company-authorized illustration and/or policy, the policy shall govern.

Jurisdiction, enforceability, and termination

These Terms of Use and your use of the Site are governed in all respects by the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of laws. Any dispute concerning the Site or these Terms of Use shall be subject to the exclusive venue of a court of competent jurisdiction in New York.

In the event that a court of competent jurisdiction holds any provision of these Terms of Use to be invalid or unenforceable, then such provision shall be severable from and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

These Terms of Use are effective until terminated by either party. You may terminate these Terms of Use without notice to Lighthouse by discontinuing all use of the information contained in the Site and destroying the materials you have obtained from the Site, including all related documentation and copies. Lighthouse may terminate these Terms of Use and/or the products or services offered by Lighthouse at any time without notice to you if, in our sole judgment, you breach any term or condition of these Terms of Use. Upon termination, you must discontinue all use of the information contained in the Site and destroy the materials you have obtained from Lighthouse, including all related documentation and copies. Lighthouse is also entitled to terminate all or part of the Site at any time, without notice to you.

These Terms of Use state the entire agreement with regard to the items discussed above.
